Digital Teachers is a nonprofit organisation that is passionate about supporting educators with the tools, training, and community they need to excel at what they do.
We all know how long it takes to put together a great learning experience. Sometimes a simple class can take hours or days of prep; starting with research, planning, finding the right tools to support the aim of the exercise, using best practices, consolidating information in one place, and staying on top of dreaded storage space limits…
Perhaps you are a teacher who works independently, part-time, or outside the support and structure of a school or educational establishment. The way we see it, these teachers work just as hard as tenured teachers but have even more hoops to jump through. Why shouldn’t they have access to the same resources, or better?
Maybe you are a fully employed teacher somewhere who wants additional support and more comprehensive tools than your establishment is able to offer. We get it. Digital Teachers was created with these resource gaps in mind.
If you identify with any of the following situations, welcome aboard, you’re in good company!
- Freelance and independent teachers with no real “home” who need to take their data with them between multiple schools
- Part-time educators who may not receive the same digital support as their full-time colleagues
- Teachers from institutions that have not yet implemented a centralized digital transition for their staff
- Partners of our humanitarian program (schools in emerging nations)
Our raison d’etre is to give world-class tools to teachers who need them. By becoming part of our community, you get access to tools from our generous partners at Google and Microsoft, no matter what your current work arrangement is, or how well-equipped (or not) your school is.
Beyond getting you the software solutions, we are a community that supports each other. Teachers all over the world have a place to come and learn how to use the latest tools, liven up teaching routines, see what is popular in the classroom, and most importantly, stay relevant. Technology has never been more present in the classroom and in order to be convincing, teachers have to keep evolving too. It can be a lot sometimes, which is why tools are important and a supportive community is vital.
